I read Abdurrahim Dede’s book The Advocate of Dimokritos with interest and pleasure. Entering a time tunnel triggered by the image of a chess piece found on the beach and going back 2,500 years to meet and converse with Democritus, Leucippus, Socrates, and Hippocrates in Ancient Greece; discussing concepts like existence, atom, matter, and soul with them—and ultimately, even if those “giants” are not convinced, seeing them refuted or at least confused—was truly a beautiful piece of fantastic fiction.
